From our Vias campsite, make a stopover in Sète (30 km from the Vias plage campsite), a city set on the water. Stroll along the canals, climb Mont Saint Clair and look out over the sea from the Corniche de Sète. From here, you can enjoy an atypical landscape of small sandy coves and transparent water dominated by limestone cliffs.
Its network of canals has earned it the nickname “Venice of Languedoc”, with its pretty little boats and colorful port. Cyclists can take advantage of a brand-new cycle path running from Marseillan to Sète, between the dunes and the Mediterranean. You’ll also find the port of Agde and our Vias plage campsite, a seaside campsite close to Sète.
The particular geography of Sète on the Etang de Thau makes this archipelago both wild and dynamic. Take a stroll around the Bassin de Thau (40 km from the campsite), separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of coastline, where you’ll find beaches, oyster beds and water sports centres. On the north shore, pretty fishing villages offer delicious oyster and mussel tastings, as doesthe little port of Bouzigues, a gourmet treasure entirely devoted to shellfish farming. You can also discover the nearby commune of Mèze.

Marin Cemetery :
this place of remembrance is the resting place of many deceased workers from the môle saint louis, as well as the famous writer Paul Valéry. This hilltop cemetery boasts beautiful graves and a sublime view of the sea.
