Le Grau-du-Roi is a commune in the Occitanie region of southeastern France, in the Gard département, bordering the Hérault department. Its neighboring commune is Aigues-Mortes.
Grau means estuary in Occitan. It’s a space that allows communication between the sea and inland waters.
As a result, Le Grau-du-Roi is surrounded by water. The Mediterranean Sea lies to the south of the town, the Petit Rhône to the east, and the Vidourle to the west and north. The commune is also bordered by 3 ponds and Lac de Salonique.
