Perpignan is the capital of the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Languedoc-Roussillon tourist region. It lies between the sea and the mountains. The city is not only close to the Mediterranean Sea and the Spanish border, but also to ski resorts.
From the town center, you can see the famous and impressive Pic du Canigou, located to the south-west of the town.
