The Pyrénées-Orientales has an air of vacation all year round. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the département is renowned for the diversity of its landscapes, between land, sea and mountains.

What to see and do in the Pyrénées-Orientales?
The Pyrénées-Orientales is the perfect place for outdoor activities.
Don’t hesitate to explore the Vermeille coast, which stretches right up to the Spanish border. Enjoy the authentic beauty of this unspoilt coastline. An unforgettable walk between the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean, the mountains of the hinterland and the villages that have inspired artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Braque.
And don’t miss a visit to the charming little town of Collioure. Surrounded by vineyards, this town, built around a bay with turquoise waters, invites you to stroll and relax.
Visiting the Pyrénées-Orientales near Spain is also an opportunity to visit Barcelona or Cadaquès, not far from the French border.

Head south from Vias towards the Pyrénées-Orientales: in the extreme south-west of France, visit Collioure “la catalane”, a beautiful coastal town borderingSpain, and finish off with a glass of Banyuls, overlooking the sea.
A few kilometers further on, cross the Spanish border via Perthus or La Jonquera, a 1h30 drive from the campsite: a stopover is all you need to buy cigarettes and alcohol, for example.
On Spanish territory, discover Cadaquès (2 h from the campsite), a charming village nestled in a bay bordered by mountains: its white houses and rocky cliffs have made it a coveted stopover.
And with a bit of courage, you can reach Barcelona, just a 3-hour drive from the campsite: Spain at your fingertips, for a different and colorful vacation!
