Vias-Plage
Situated between the Canal du Midi and the Mediterranean, Vias-Plage is a pretty seaside resort in the Hérault department. All different from one another, the beaches of Occitanie are wild, linear or secluded. When you visit the seaside of Languedoc-Roussillon, you’ll find Vias-Plage boasts 5 km of coastline. Like the famous Plage de la Farinette, which takes its name from the fine flour-like sand. The most beautiful beaches in Vias
Do you dream of clean beaches with extra fine sand? In Vias, the beaches stretch from Cap d’Agde to Sérignan in southern Hérault.
Its particularly pleasant coastline makes it ideal for cycling along the coast, for thrilling sports activities or simply for enjoying the warm Mediterranean waters and fine sand beneath your feet. Discover Vias’ main beaches on either side of the canal and river.
- Plage Tamarissière : this beach is shared with the Grau d’Agde and is ideal for those who want to experience true moments of nature, with its untamed setting close to the dike of the Hérault river.
- Plage de la Farinette: the central and best-known beach of Vias Plage, la Farinette is the closest to our campsite. It is equipped and supervised in summer, making it a very pleasant place for family bathing.
- Plage du Libron: wild and close to the center, this beach has the particularity of being on the banks of the Libron, where it’s very pleasant to stroll right up to the structures of the Canal du Midi. You’ll also find a number of vineyards that complete the town’s Languedoc landscape.
- Plage de la Méditerranée: on the western side of Vias-Plage, you’ll find a few beaches far from the center and tourist attractions. Our favorite is the one closest to Portiragnes, because apart from the numerous campsites behind the dunes, its wild allure seems to stretch on to infinity.

From the small Roman village of Vias, to leisure facilities such as miniature golf and go-karting, there’s a plethora of things to do when you visit Vias-Plage. However, if you prefer to stay by the sea, there are plenty of other activities to discover and enjoy.
Like all seaside resorts worthy of the name, Vias Plage offers a wide range of leisure centers where you can try your hand at water sports.
On the program: jet skiing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, sea trekking or towed buoys. Sporty or fun, you’re bound to find an activity to suit you.
The waters of the Vias beaches are particularly clean, which is a good sign for the quality of environmental preservation. And you won’t want to miss the dunes that line the coastline. Stroll , cycle or horse ride along the various beaches for a nature walk.
Young and old alike can enjoy a more or less wild setting and meet rare species. One of Vias-Plage’s must-do activities is to enjoy the banks of the Canal du Midi.
On a bike or canoe trip, you can travel up the various rivers towards the effluvia to admire this titanic work. This calm, serene ride takes you through unspoilt, shady landscapes and the Vias vineyards.
Other Hérault beaches around Vias
From Grau du Roi to Valras-Plage, the Hérault coastline stretches for miles. You’ll find numerous beaches, from creeks to long stretches of sand and natural lagoons. From our campsite in Vias-Plage, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the various seaside towns and marinas of the Hérault.
First and foremost, Cap d’Agde is the resort with the most contrasts in its various districts: the small fishing port, the leisure island and the secret coves at the foot of the cliffs. Don’t miss the dazzlingly wild Grande Conque beach, with its volcanic black sand.
Enjoy the seaside at Marseillan Plage or the Etang de Thau at Sète. Their special position allows visitors to enjoy protected natural areas with calm beaches. Near Sérignan and Valras-Plage, you’ll also find the Orpellières reserve offering a pleasant wilderness setting on the amethyst coast.
